Cannon can only be described as the East's true skiers mountain. It can be cold, icy, and unforgiving, but offers thrills that won't be forgotten. It opened in 1938. The elevation is over 4,000 feet on top and the vertical is a hefty 2,146 feet. While skiers have always loved it, snowboarders have enjoyed the sport here since 1984, very early in that sport's history. Be sure and allow time when skiing or riding at Cannon to browse through the well-done and fascinating New England Ski Museum.
